It was a pleasure to recently host Dogman Production Company’s filming in the Andamooka Opal Fields as part of their documentary project, Project Dry Heat.

Project Dry Heat explores life in Australia’s remote opal mining towns, with a strong focus on the experiences of women growing up in these unique communities. The filming captured a powerful visual portrait of Coober Pedy, Andamooka, and the surrounding outback — reflecting the people, the landscape, and the mining culture that shapes everyday life.

The project is being produced by an experienced creative team with an impressive track record across film and commercial work. Their projects have screened internationally at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, and they have produced ARIA Award-winning music videos for artists such as Vance Joy, G Flip, and The Teskey Brothers, as well as documentary work for SBS.

We’re stoked to see Andamooka included in a project of this calibre and look forward to sharing more as Project Dry Heat progresses.
